About Us

Packet Ship is a software technology company providing an integrated set of components for video-on-demand and digital media delivery, including software video servers, content management systems, content delivery networks and digital signage control systems.

Our software runs on standard Linux platforms - either server or embedded - and is designed for quick integration with vertical applications.

Packet Ship is based in Cornwall, UK, and takes its name from the first global content distribution system - the packet ships that carried mail quickly and securely from here to the rest of the world in the 18th and 19th centuries.

* New Release: Packet Ship Streamline 2.3 "Lisbon"

11th September 2009: At IBC 2009, Packet Ship today announced the release of the Packet Ship Streamline v2.3 video server, codenamed "Lisbon". This release provides an advanced 'trick mode' system allowing visual fast-forward and rewind at any speed, and a number of other features to make it even easier to integrate with.

* New Product: Packet Ship Centreline asset management and routing

3rd December 2008: Packet Ship today announced the release of Packet Ship Centreline, a Web-based central management application for asset and metadata capture, packaging of content and routing of deliveries to remote sites.

The Centreline management application interfaces with the Packet Ship Gridline content distribution system, which uses the delivery rules set in Centreline to control the automatic delivery of content files and associated metadata to large numbers of remote sites.
